| Trinity is a residential college
that has resulted from the amalgamation of St Columba and Kingswood
Colleges, which have existed since 1971 and 1962 respectively. Located
directly opposite the magnificent Crawley
Campus of The
University of Western Australia, Trinity is now the
largest residential college in WA catering for some 374 undergraduate
and postgraduate residents. Our community is made up of a vibrant
group of young people (undergraduate and postgraduate) from all
parts of Australia and all over the world. The proximity of Trinity
to Perth's major attractions provides all residents with a lifestyle
to be envied.
Alumni of Trinity have gone on to work and serve the
community and provide significant leadership roles in a variety
of professions. The current Premier of WA, Dr Geoff Gallop is one
of our ex-residents. Trinity has also watched its graduates move
into the fields of law, medicine, politics, public service, private
enterprise, Church-based organisations, education, research and
many other areas.

Our motto - "Friendship. Learning. Growth."
- is the cornerstone of the opportunities provided to residents
at Trinity. My focus, and that of the Deputy Head and all Trinity
staff, is to create an environment that promotes harmony and that
contributes to the all-round development of each resident, while
acknowledging the differences among residents.

The College Club, your own organisation that I
ask you each to support, plays an important role. I expect the Club
to be responsive to the needs of each member, at the same time as
it offers a means for each to make a contribution to our common
life. Issues referred to me or the Deputy Head by the Club President
or through the Forum will be considered seriously and dealt with
thoroughly by the College administration. Remember that the Club
is only as effective as its contributing members make it. We expect
each resident to play his or her part as a member of the Trinity
community.
If College and University life are new to you, there will be an
initial period of adjustment. Living in a collegiate environment
has many significant benefits but one of the constraints on life
together is that residents must be mindful of others and act in
the best interests of the community. It is expected that, as adults,
you will order your own life with common sense and in consideration
of others. There are many positive advantages and benefits of college
life, not least of which are the lasting friendships that are formed
in college.
Residence at Trinity will provide you with opportunities not available
to most students. Given that you will be entering a competitive
work environment, the skills and experience gained while in residence
should prove invaluable.
I trust that you will gain all the information required from our
website and accept my invitation to apply
for residence at Trinity.
